Project:Hollow
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
Project:Hollow is a side-scroller, roguelike action platformer inspired by games like Risk of Rain. Fight endless waves of shadows and explore the first stratum of the Resting Tower.
Time-based difficulty:
The Tower slumbers until you enter, but beware ! The longer you stay, the more exalted the Tower gets, increasing both strength and endurance of the enemies. Be ready to quickly find your way to the next elevator each level.
Select your secondary weapon:
In addition to your sword, choose from a selection of 7 powerful secondary weapons before entering the Tower. Each one have their unique active and passive, offering a variety of possible gameplays and ways of crushing your enemies.
Create an overpowered and fun build every run:
The Tower is an ever-changing and dangerous place. But don't be scared as Tenebris is merciful and will reward your kills with powerful gifts. It's up to you to find altars and create your own build with a selection of 11 upgrades with each 5 variations to choose from.
In addition, at the end of each level awaits an Idol capable of gratifying you with one of three truth giving you statistical upgrades.
Loop forever until Tenebris revokes you from the Tower:
Upon beating the 1st Guardian of the Tower and reaching the 3rd elevator, you have a choice. You can either end the run, or loop to the first level conserving all your upgrades, giving you the opportunity to perfect your build indefinitely.

Well, Hey! It plays fantastic! I just can´t make it out of the 1st Level. I reach this strange black hole in the air - but that last wall is just too high. Is this a bug? Windows 10 here ...
Hello, thanks for playing my game ! If you talk about the tutorial level, this might be the part where you have to pogo off the thing you describe as a "black hole". To pogo, you have to hold down and attack the enemy while being above it. I hope this helps !
Hmm. I tried this. It´s a bit like the similar move in Hollow Knight - but did not succeed. Will try again... Thanx.
Just saw the update, can confirm that it works perfectly fine on linux, and using a controller! Thanks so much!
Nice ! I'm glad it works fine. I hope you'll enjoy the game !
Hey, is there any way to get this working on linux? You posted this with linux as a platform, but even through using steam proton, I can't get it to launch. Thanks!
Hello ! On my side, I managed to execute the game using "chmod +x ProjectHollow.exe" then "./ProjectHollow.exe" in a terminal. Sorry, I don't know how steam proton work but I hope this still helps.
Hello, the file that’s supplied (ProjectHollow.exe) is a Windows binary. How are you running that file like that? It doesn’t work on Linux because it’s a Windows executable file. Since you are using Unity, you would need to export the project to Linux and provide that as a separate upload. Same for mac - mac users won’t be able to use ProjectHollow.exe either.
Thanks for pointing this out ! I misunderstood how Unity worked and naively thought that Desktop build would work on all platforms. I'll try to make a linux build during next week. I still don't understand how I managed to execute the .exe on a linux PC.
No problem! I don’t mind testing the game out on Linux once you have it up. Btw, cool art style for this game!
Take your time! Thanks for being so prompt to respond though, I really appreciate it! I look forward to getting to try this game out, it looks so cool!
really fun game!!! I enjoyed the little learning curve with how all the upgrades interact with each other and I sunk a couple hours in it as soon as I started. Really enjoyable and I hope to see more future updates!
One little issue I did encounter is that black lightning tended to have huge frame drops that often got me hit, but its pretty avoidable by just not getting it
Thanks for playing my game and for the feedback ! Do you have more context ? For example do you remember if you had more lag with a specific upgrade category (Primary, Secondary, OnDamaged...) ?
yummy
A super fun action game! At first, the many upgrade options felt a bit overwhelming, but once I got used to it, I could instantly choose upgrades that matched my build and enjoy stylish battles!
I played on stream, but I kept going afterward and managed to reach Level 9 with a sub-weapon-focused build using Shadow Blaster! Aiming for Level 12, meow~! 🐱
Thanks a lot for playing my game and showing it on stream ! Hope you manage to reach the 12th level !
Thank you! I somehow reach level 12, but I lose to the boss.
At first, I plan to fight with the secondary, but I notice the strength of the primary enhanced by the wind buff and switch in the middle, so the build is a bit awkward.
Next time, I focus on the primary and try to dodge the boss’s moves better, meow!
And at this point, the effects look so gorgeous and fun! By the way, my PC does not experience any delay from the effects so far. 🐱
looks great, i like the animation and combat
Really really cool!
